WORKS

"Annette Mewes-Thoms' canvases are largely dominated by the repetition of the line, laid down through a process she describes as "a mix of unsconscious movement and introspektive meditation". Much of her artistic ideals involve the lyrical deconstruction of the past and the objectivity of historical happenstance.

Growing up in a coastal town during the reconstruction of post-war Germany, Annette Mewes-Thoms' work is less about what changes through time and more about what endures."
